*** 1949-53 PLYMOUTH CARBURETOR *** - Picture 3 of 8

I just rebuilt my old stock carburetor, re-bushed the throttle shaft and then found a new BXVES-3 on eBay.  Here is another new carb in the box, manual trans.

Would you know if this is a stromberg?

Is on a 1950 B2D 1 ton with fluid drive .... Not a Carter, and appears to have a accelerator pump rod externally ... just different from other strombergs have seen.

That's a dash pot for fluid drive. manual choke.  Looks like a Stromberg.  I think the carb has been sold.

It has been sold ... I passed this information on to a different forum and he bought it.

He has a 1950 1 ton truck with a fluid drive transmission ... everything looks like it will connect ... I'm hoping it will because I took this post and passed it on to them ... they bought it and waiting for delivery.

Same time it is winter, there is a trailer with flat tires and a tractor with dead batteries parked in front of the truck ... it might be a month or two before he installs it.

I'm concerned you say the photo image above is for a fluid drive .... what makes a fluid drive different for a carburetor?

They do not need vacuum or electrics from the carburetor .... what identifies the carburetor for a fluid drive?
