Drawings of Ram Hood ornament B-Model trucks

Hi, Guys--

Looking for images of the Ram Hood ornament for B-Model trucks, especially 1948-1953.  I have some hardware for sun visors left over from the days when I operated Pilothouse Interiors, and I want to restore & cover them in leather-- rather than vinyl-- and carve the ram image into the cab side of them.  I've taken up leather work as a hobby and have now gained enough experience that I think I could do a decent job at it.  I'll use tooling leather from Herman-Oaks tannery.  It's good stuff and can be easily dyed.

I might be able to sketch it from a picture, but I'm not much of an artist.  Tracing it would be more my speed...

Would sure appreciate any leads.

Thanks, Guys.

Thanks ggdad1951--

That picture will work.  It's the straight-on profile I was look for.  Most of the pic's I got were at an angle of some sort.

I remember buying some stuff from you years ago when I was restoring my 1951 B3C.  I'll send you a copy of the sketch/drawing I finally settle on using your picture as a tracer/model.

Well guess I put the wrong one on my truck...whoops. 😀

Oh well it fits and I like it.

Disregard mine as a reference.

It's not a W series either.

Thanks to all the guys who responded to my post re:  ram B-Model hood ornament.

Special thanks to tanda62 & ggdad1951 for taking the time to send me photos.

The picture ggdad1951 sent is-- as far as I can tell-- the correct hood ornament.  It's exactly what I had on my 1951 B3C Pilothouse.  Once I trace it out and transfer it onto leather and carve and stamp out the outline & details, I'll post a picture of the finished carving.

Still undecided as to whether or not it would look best to just cover the visors with leather and not add the ram image.  Any opinions from club members would be welcomed and valued.

Here,s the B-Model era Ram carved into a piece of scrap leather.  The leather has some blemishes but the basic carved & tooled image is there.

I did this very quickly.  I'll take my time when I do this to the actual piece of leather that will cover the restored sun visor.

I agree 100% ... sadly I'm just not as artistic as  @jcnida52 I can draw stick figures for people portraits ... So I really do appreciate the work that is done here.

The Asphalt Armadillos is the name of the local car club here .... you are not alone.

Mr. Coggins--

Thank you for posting a review of my leather carving.  I really appreciate you sharing your opinion.

By the way, I restored a 1951 B3C-- very similar to your truck...

Thanks, again.
