I realize this doesn't help you much although I had to build lowered uprights for my 1940 plymouth car.   It takes a second set of good straight uprights.   and a king pin as a locator for re-assembly.  Also a competent welder with knowledge of structural welding with preheat.   but all in all it's not that difficult.
