It is a bit dark inside the car, but it appears that the left rear arm rest has been modified, and the right side (just barely visible) appears to be the stock design. More photos???  ;)

Very nice.  We love pictures.  Looks like your car has a backup light option.  Keep us posted on your progress.

Great looking car! I like the color and it appears to be in really good condition. Enjoy the project you have and keep us posted as it progresses.

Battery cables are too small, lol.  I see that all the time.  Nice start to a good project.  Step one, a good cleaning, lol.  Speaking of which, I need to clean the kitchen.

Did the latrine yesterday.  Maybe, if I am a good boy and I pass inspection I can play with cars this weekend, lol.  I do have a few new items for the 51 to review.

Looks like you've got a good car to start with!  That indeed looks like a really nice interior.

Also - (que angels singing while the sun breaks through puffy white clouds) - you have a Custom, as opposed to a Deluxe.  The Custom being the higher end model.  Trim spears on the rear fenders, and stainless trim around the windows are external giveaways.  I forget what that entails otherwise, other than an electric wiper motor and some fancier trim inside.

I rewired my 47 DeSoto but stayed with 6V pos ground . If I would have been doing a driveline swap or if the heater motor, wiper motor, and other components were toast then may have gone a different route. Proper gauge wire and especially battery cables are key to a happy 6V system. 6V halogen headlight bulbs along with relays make it no problem to be on the road at night
