As I said............ its our individual choice.............I don't particularly like change for changes sake, but I do like safe........lol.........its all good............ main thing is to actually use the car with whatever tyres it has so long as they are safe..........lol..........my next sermon will be at........lol.......regards from Oz..........Andy Douglas

I run radials.....but I also run alloy.....lol   Not for everyone, would never try to convince a person one way or the other........they just my preference....these suit my build with the overall size of the tire in width and height, 16's and 75 series.  I have a bent engine and 5 speed on the floor also....

I'm running 235/70/r15s on original 1950 rims without tubes. I got steel valve stems and modified them to seal the big oblong hole. Basically just used stainless washers, rubber sheet on the inside and ever-seal on the outside. I like the fat plooming look of the wide tire on a skinny rim. The ride is great and I can cruise at 70 mph.

I've been running the 205/75/15 steel belted on my P-15 for 12 years now with out a tube. Just make sure you clean the inner rim real good. I wire brushed mine and then painted them to seal the area were the clips are attached to prevent any leaks. Instead of using led weights, I use 4-5 oz of airsoft pellets inside the wheels for the balance. The car tracks straight and true unless the wind picks up or the road is bad. Here is a tire sizing chart to convert the old style to radials.

that's where I have trouble finding new wheels. The Saratoga has a 5.5 bolt pattern.

The 5 X 5.5 bolt pattern is common to DODGE, SUZUKI, FORD, KIA, DAIHATSU, INTERNATIONAL, JEEP, GEO, CHRYSLER and MITSUBISHI vehicles. A full list of vehicle makes and models appears below.

5 X 5.5 is generally thought of as the Ford truck bolt pattern. Wheels with 5 X 5.5 bolt pattern are sometimes found on travel trailers and utility trailers

Should not be a problem in my mind .... My 1991 chebby truck has the same 5 on 5 bolt pattern.  There is just about everything made for these trucks as they are popular to restore and customize.

Also older rear wheel drive GM buick, olds ...Cadilac .... very common bolt pattern.

 

I have seen many used wheels on FB market place that have this bolt pattern ... I never searched but feel new wheels should be available.

 

Hrm  .... is it 5 on 5.5 or 5 on 5?
