Microscope bulbs for dash lights?

I saw a posting for this.  Specifically a #63 Extrabright Microscope Lightbulb.  I "think" it was Sam Buchanans post.

I followed the link and , surprise surprise,  the store is closed.   The luck of my usual attempts at Google-fu ,  My searches found nothing related.  Though I did find a nice source for 1963 Plymouth dash light bulbs.

Anyone got a link for someone who sells these?

Also the post stated there was a way to change the color of dash lights,  Is that a thing or just a joke?

Hmmm.  I can put them in my cart.  Go to purchase.  When I try to pay for them I get forwarded to a separate page  that says "The Sellers store is closed for Vacation"

Not sure what to make of it,  sounds suspiciously like "Mr Smith is Unavailable" or some other copy/paste corporate script phrase.

I put it on my watch list and hope that the owner will come back.

Thanks for all the help!

Good to be cautious but the seller has 99% positive feedback and if you follow the link to their store you get a vacation message right at the top. Seems legit.

Or you could save a bunch of money by running an 81 bulb vice a 63.  70 lumens vs 38.  81 bulb is 61 cents each at Rockauto

I think that means "he is on vacation"........     ?

The page says he will be back today, 5/14.

While I do not doubt you Sniper, how did you determine the lumens? You are referencing the phillips 81cp right?

I looked up the specs on a 63 an 81 bulb, those are the lumens that were listed.

I am not referencing any specific bulb, the bulb numbers are universal and all manufacturer's that make that specific bulb are supposed to adhere to those specification.

Just remember that a brighter bulb will run hotter. Not always an issue, but could be if around plastic.

I can’t recall the details of the gauge bulb sockets but wonder if the larger envelope of the 81’s would be a problem. Also, the 63’s are plenty bright, anything brighter would probably need a dimmer.
