One more clutch question

Part of my problem was the throw out bearing. The bearing is pressed 1/4 inch past the end of the sleeve. I replaced it with the old bearing which helped. The problem is I’m out of adjustment and I can’t get the 1/8-5/32 clearance between the rod and clutch fork. Is there something I’m missing? The manual doesn’t specify any other adjustments. The car drives fine but it grinds going into reverse so I don’t think I’m completely disengaging the clutch. I should add it’s a rebuilt clutch from Tennessee Clutch and the engine was replaced also. Help!

Grinds going into reverse?

Don't they all?

Not sure with a fluid clutch set up, but I always (mostly) shifted into second  gear followed closely in to reverse and eliminated the grinding.

Has been a while since I drove the 3 speed in the 50 Ply. just a thought.

Seems you will soon have a beautiful driving car.  Best of wishes! ?
