Today I participated in a local vintage car show. Ir was a good show. I met a lot of people. I was quite pleased to meet a fellow P15-D24 member here who has a flathead old Mopar and lives right here in my town! I hope to meet up with him again soon to check out is old Mopar. Ideally I get to help turn a few wrenches on it. @42D22

Here are some photos from today's meet.  The local TV crew interviewed me and my Chrysler. They tell me we'll probably be on the local TV news tomorrow. That'll be cool. If that works out, I'll post a a video here later.

About 75 vintage cars registered. We started as seen here in a parking lot and socialized. We completed a driving tour then ended up on the grass of our main park downtown for a free public show. Here are all the Flathead era Mopars I found:

Cool pic of the Canadian 40 Dodge, we have a coupe just like that.  The hood\fenders\bumpers\headlights and taillights are all different than the US made ones, I think the body sits up a bit higher too.

Thanks for sharing ?

I seen an AMC Pacer in that group pic.  Pretty cool!

Yes the white & blue Pacer. Were the six figure Pace Arrows overlooked? Lol.  Many at the show had no idea what they were or their worth. Many spectators attending the show noticed and commented on the Pacer and the ‘72 VW.  ?

I am a knuckle dragger! Lol. Just yesterday I was on my knees all afternoon installing new brakes on my ‘98 Dodge 3/4T truck. Followed by an oil change on my ride-on mower.  There’s no job too big or small around here. If I can save $2, I’m incentivized.

Remembering where you came from and staying grounded seems to be forgotten by many in todays world. Lol.  Besides I like it here. This is the best place in the universe for flathead Mopars. I would not be surprised if Jay Leno is here under a false moniker.  Jay if you’re reading this maybe drop a subtle P15-D24 hint in an upcoming flathead era Mopar YT video.  That’d be cool.

I guess I have never had enough money to let someone else do the repairs to my vehicles. I only got my 37 Plymouth because of an accident at work (beware of Caustic Soda) and took out a claim. 3rd degree burns are no fun. I was fortunate The Caustic Soda burnt through my nerves and I had no pain. However it took 6 months for the skin to grow back on my leg.

I find working on my 37 enjoyable and it has brought back the fun in working on cars again.

IDK if it was $ or the challenge but I'm on my second rebuilt out of the garbage Honda mower. Neither house I've had was big enough to need a rider but I salvaged these push mowers. First one way back had a bent crankshaft and at the time I had a buddy that worked at a hardware store and got me the parts cheap. Swapped in the new crank along with blade and blade adapter and had an expensive mower for about $40. Second time another one with bent crank. This time no discount parts available but found a second mower with good motor and bad deck for $30 and made 1 out of 2. Now if we're hurrying the wife and I will both mow. Soon the boys will be able to chime in.
