I also have advice that I could use regular transmission fluid. The only other advice I got is that we have to buy 5 gallons of the special fluid and I’m not sure I can afford it at this time.

Makes the most sense but I spun the engine with the key and I didn’t see any. I guess I have to bump it or bottom. Bottom line is I need two people thanks guys. D35 torpedo

Better not just pour any type fluid in that big hole. Get a mop if you do.

If you pour the fluid into the fill hole without lining up the FD plug, the fluid will spill out of the bottom.  You have to unscrew the plug and fill through the hole.  You fill with fluid until it starts to flow out.  Then screw the plug back on.  Turn your engine over by the fan blade until you see the plug.  Removing the spark plugs will make that easier.

I used AW32 Hydraulic oil in mine. I believe you can get it in 2.5 gallon jugs at a farm supply store. I think I got mine at Farm & Fleet, but check with Tractor Supply if there's one in your area.

Be prepared to really take your time. You can't pour the fluid in very fast at all. I rigged up a small funnel that worked okay. Just keep bumping the starter, a tiny bit at a time, you'll find it. If you get it close enough to see you can use a big screwdriver or crow bar to move it a bit. Once you remove the fill screw, you can spin the rear output section by hand, slowly. There are one or two spots where an inner hole shows up. You can pour the fluid in without having it lined up inside but it's easier with the latter method. The regular hydraulic fluid mentioned above isn't perfect but it will work quite well.

Thanks everyone

I filled it with a fairly large pump oiler and it took only a few ounces of AW 32

just so I make sure this is the same oil I use in the transmission

so when I googled 10 weight oil I get AW32 so I guess it’s used in both places since you can’t get mopar fluid drive fluid
