Bobacuda
When you get it mounted, it will be top heavy. Be careful when flipping the engine or you will also flip the stand. Don’t ask me how I know…

Los_Control
I replaced the short 18" bar with a 3' piece of 1/2" water pipe. ..... The engine stand is still not stable, I have way more control with the 3' bar when turning it over.
MBSoPaB
Jrod, like the others have said, keep fiddling with the bars and clocking the mounting bracket. My solution involved a couple of C-clamps and the welder, dedicating this mounting bracket to flathead sixes and eights. Although not the solution for everyone, it did permit me to mount the engine assembly closer to the center of gravity than my adjustable arm attempts. Please ignore the sub-par welds; fighting some cold 7018 rod. MBSoPaB
LeRoy
Put a little grease between the two pipes, it will help a great deal. I've been using a cheapie HF stand and it's pretty sketchy at times. The long handle swap is a major improvement.
