The Signal Stat is a good option if you don't need self-cancelling. At the very least it would get you through inspection. Here is how I connected mine to the car's harness.

I think it looks right at home on the column even though it isn't stock.

I'd like to install turn signals pretty soon. Is there a comprehensive tutorial that anyone is aware of?

Thanks

Andy

Not aware of a tutorial, just ask questions here.

Here is the wiring diagram for the Signal Stat switch.

You will need adapters so you can put double filament bulbs in the tail and parking lights for signals/brake and tail/parking light functions.

@Sam Buchanan I am jealous of your interior!

I was fortunate to find a P15 that received engine overhaul, paint and interior in the '80's. Saved me thousands of $$$$'s, and good argument for buying a nice car up front and getting the benefit of other people having spent their dollars.  :)

Took me a good part of a year to achieve a reliable driver but at least I started out with good bones.

Sam, I removed my self cancelling switch and installed the Signal Stat 900 mainly for the 4 way function. I have my wife to tell me my turn signals are still on!!!!

I'm sure she can tell you a lot of other things, too!    ?

I put a bright LED where one of the radio knob blanks were and can see it readily. So I only leave the signal on occasionally.  ?

The LED can be seen through the steering wheel under the radio blank.

In NY, directional signals are not an inspection item for 1952 and older cars and if it is installed it cannot be cause for a rejection. NYS Motor Vehicle Inspection Regulation CR 79.21 pages 42 and 43.

I have a very bright LED green light on the turn signal switch body. Most of the time I remember to turn them off. No sound just a blinking light. The sound would be useless to me. I am hard of hearing to start with and our car has a 1960s glass pack on it. I would guess that most if not all of the fiberglass have long since been destroyed so I am running a straight pipe that ends just behind the front passenger. I have got no chance of hearing anything.
