Torture test

Nine hours of mountain driving in the Coronet. If that didn’t kill it nothing will lol. Aside from a disc brake conversion it’s as engineered by Mopar. I drive it most of the year but my wife is the one to convince me to take longer trips. I’m pleased and pleasantly surprised by how well it works.

Just did 800 plus miles in my 46.  Mountains in Vt. and NH, not a problem up or down.  Brakes not an issue.  With the OD, mileage averaged just over 20.  Only fault, broken rivet on tail pipe hanger.  No oil usage.  Gotta run the ethanol regular out of it to make room for a non ethical tank refill to pass the winter in the garage.   Another trouble free driving season in the books.

I did a 1200 mile round trip mid September in hot conditions without any problems. No overdrive or disc conversion but kept it at 50 to 55 mph and had a great time. Nothing wrong with original in my books but completely understand why some want the upgrades for their rides. Congratulations on your mountain tour.

Hello Doug&Deb - glad to hear that you are getting out on the road! I try to drive my 1947 Chrysler NY every day that there isn't snow on the ground. Living in Winnipeg that makes for a lot of time in the garage. What disc brake conversion kit did you use?
