Ulu Posted February 25, 2022 Report Posted February 25, 2022 I never imagined this! With a mask and a white coat and $24 I can set up my own traveling endoscopy business! Seriously guys, do any of you own a cheap usb/Wi-Fi/Bluetooth type boroscope and what is it? I have a Galaxy S6+ that that I could dedicate to this device if it was worth buying. I could also buy one that works with the iPhone pro. And I have no clue if these things are worth a damn. 1 Quote
Young Ed Posted February 25, 2022 Report Posted February 25, 2022 I have one that I couldn't get to work with my phone. However hooked it up to a cheap Chromebook and it has saved me twice now. Once on my 07 minivan when I dropped a bolt inside the sliding door and once when adding an outlet to the house I used it in the wall to see why the Romex was getting stuck 1 1 Quote
Sniper Posted February 25, 2022 Report Posted February 25, 2022 I bet they'd be good to use if you wanted to sort out whether or not your valves were stuck without pulling the head. Quote
Bryan Posted February 25, 2022 Report Posted February 25, 2022 And check for carbon build up on the pistons. Quote
Tooljunkie Posted March 2, 2022 Report Posted March 2, 2022 Have a usb one, it comes in handy from time to time. Pulled injectors on a chevy 3.8, the o rings popped off a few. Came in handy then. I use my laptop for display. I also have a flir camera for ios, it works well too. Quote
FarmerJon Posted March 4, 2022 Report Posted March 4, 2022 Ok, sure, yeah... But wtf is the picture on the phone in the ad? A metal ball? inside a....fleshy tube?? Quote

Sniper Posted March 27, 2022 Report Posted March 27, 2022 We used to use borescopes to inspect the gearboxes on wind turbines. I actually got pretty good at positioning the scope to inspect the bo. Pretty sure I don;t want to put that scope in my ear, lol. Quote
linus6948 Posted April 12, 2022 Report Posted April 12, 2022 I have a 12 dollar model from banggood and I view it on an old laptop it can be very helpful in a pinch. I`am thinking about this one they now have available for about 36 bucks. https://usa.banggood.com/Professional-Industrial-HD-Borescope-with-2_4-Inch-LCD-Screen-5_5mm-Borescope-Inspection-Camera-1-or-3M-Cable-USB-Waterproof-p-1923715.html?cur_warehouse=CN&ID=567370&rmmds=search Quote
Kilgore47 Posted April 12, 2022 Report Posted April 12, 2022 i'm going to need a new scope. This one got crushed when I lowered the lift with the P15 on it. Needed a better one anyway. Better a cheap tool than a finger. 1 1 Quote
linus6948 Posted April 15, 2022 Report Posted April 15, 2022 Spotted this on amazon for 45 bucks so I took a shot and just ordered it. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09DPWJZS9?psc=1&smid=A8WHWNV0WBVUU&ref_=chk_typ_imgToDp Quote
linus6948 Posted April 17, 2022 Report Posted April 17, 2022 The scope from amazon arrived yesterday and was charged last night, I just tried it out and could not be happier with this scope. It is not a piece of inferior junk that you would expect to get for less than fifty bucks. The images it produces are of amazing quality and the viewing screen is a very nice size. All in all it is a home run with me as the latest addition to my collection of tools and I can highly recommend it. 2 Quote
