Mine is to finish the Morris LCV and thus free me up to get back onto a couple of the Mopars......hopefully alongside this is organized the shop a bit better than it is now and maybe a less wet year for the possibility of taking a few of the cars out for a bit of driving. Wrap up the two motorcycle projects in the garage. Finish the slot car track in the basement. Bicycle more. Be the old left wing hippie at the old farts table at the local breakfast place just to stir stuff up. One long 1st class airplane trip with the missus to use up my hundreds of thousands of frequent flyer miles and hotel points. Then never set foot in an airport again. That's a start. Finally ordered a new top for it and got it installed. First time to replace a convertible top. Turned out pretty good. The tops for these cars are basically unbolt and bolt the new one back on. But you have to take most of the interior out to get to the bolts. A few other mechanical fixes, new tires along with a good detailing and I'll have the car back on the road. This car has been modified. Almost 300 HP to the ground. He's in Seattle and we're in Jersey and the last time he was here was Thanksgiving 2019. Thank you Covid (NOT)! Gotta get rid of more stuff and sell the house. It would be nice if we had an idea of where we're moving, but the jury is still out for various reasons. Young Ed Posted December 26, 2021 Report Share Posted December 26, 2021 My big goals are attempting to reconnect with the people who own our old Falcon and attempt to be it's 4th owner after my parents were the 2nd. Saw them last June and they mentioned they were willing to let it go and had even offered it to my Dad. Lots of stuff happened but when I saw it again in Sept the car show got cancelled before I found them. Other item is of course more progress getting the 47 WC on the road. I will rework the clutch on my bike and take Judy up the mountain on it. I’m going to start working on the Scout. The engine is frozen since about 1990. Go get our daughter's '63 Falcon from New Mexico (wife's orders, not sure what we'll do with it yet). Get the Terraplane back on a regularly driven schedule, really just needs new tires and a carb rebuild, but I'm sure I'll find other stuff that "needs" to be done. Keep trying to wear out the Beetle. Continue my quest to become known locally as the "old fart in the old grey Dodge". Other-wise; Take the missus fishing, and get her out into the willywags more. Summit at least two more Maine peaks. Find more waterfalls (Maine has scads of them). Try to wear out my 2nd bicycle here. Do a 90th anniversary documentary retracing a 3-day, 60+ mile Border Patrol adventure that took place up here in 1932. I agree - The modifications I made to this car are not logical. I was getting close to retirement and knew that if I was going to build a quick car that I should get on with it while I still had the disposable income to do it. Spent more on modifications than I paid for the car. But this car is a total adrenalin rush. No drugs required. Zero to 60 in just under 4.5 seconds. Plymouthy Adams Posted December 31, 2021 Author Report Share Posted December 31, 2021 resolutions are not promises to oneself, they are thought out plans of mice and men...acknowledgement of things you wish to accomplish...if you look at it any other way you bound for disappointment why I never set a timeline for a car...I measure my progress by what I call mile markers...each segment broken down and yes, usually on a check list...many times the shop will not get straightened till I have reach that marker and can put this behind me along with the tools I used. Organized chaos works well here. Computer got hit by lightening last night.....am on back up now and will pick up my new tower today. Hmmm… Life must be different here because my wife was able to get into the doctor in one day. Well it seems like I have accomplished my first resolution which was to get my car through inspection and get license plates on it. As it turned out it was much easier than I expected in the end. All that is done. I went out an uncovered the Scout And it’s not as rusty as I have feared. Of course I will have to start another off-topic thread about this car. Progressed thru the night till about 2:00 am and I woke up unable to breath. Got my puffer and took a viagra, it improves blood flow and O2 content. My blood O2 level is at 93 right now, which is a tad low. No idea what it was last night. Of course, the Doctor decided I needed a covid test. We'll see what that says but I think I caught the crud from my middle daughter who came down to visit last week and got sick, she tested negative though. Had my own thing like this just before Christmas. Had a bit of a dry cough for a few months that was nothing more than irritable. Then got a bad head cold that I couldn't shake off. Drove in to see doctor. Am thankful she didn't send me home with antibiotics and paracetamol as I was expecting. Had a bit of fluid on lungs and 88% oxygen. Thought pneumonia so sent to ED. Couple of days of tests later and have been diagnosed with a lymphoma. Am told it's curable at this stage so that's a plus. Bit of chemo and maybe other stuff. Early days on this road. Getting old sucks Sounds like you are feeling better, glad to hear it. I think what you described certainly sounds like covid. I think at this point the covid will be like the flue and everyone will get it sooner or later. I think it is really to controversial to discuss in a open forum, just like polytricks. To many differing opinions. Since I retired I started taking over the grocery shopping and cooking, Wife & I are eating more healthy. I really have not been sick with the crud for a few years. I think it pays to be prepared in advance. I have a bottle of vitamins in the medicine cabinet created by a DR because of covid but works just as well on colds or flue. I do not take it daily, just if I did start feeling the crud coming on. Then 2 pills a day and it simply a vitamin cocktail designed to boost your immune system. So whatever crud you have your body will fight it off quicker. The symptoms will be less severe. Just important to have it available and start it as soon as you get the symptoms. With this latest variant the vaccines are not as good from keeping your from getting sick but they still seem to be very good at keeping COVID from being so bad you need to be hospitalized. So while it sucks to get sick after getting vaccinated there is a good chance the vaccine will keep you well enough to avoid hospitalization.
