fireguyfire
I’ve got the clutch/brake pedals off of the pivot shaft (thanks to those who chimes in on the thread I made regarding removing them) on my 1940 dodge 1/2 ton. I’m getting ready to run the pedals through my blast cabinet and paint them (after I replace the bushing in the brake pedal; it’s got a bit of slop in it). Looking at photos of restored trucks, the brake and clutch pedals are black, however when cleaning mine up there appears to be silver paint on them, and no black where there is paint remaining. Were the pedals engine silver? My truck is a Canadian dodge, so I’m not sure that would matter. Just want to be correct when I do blast and repaint them. JBNeal
Factory photos in Bunn's books have shown the engine + transmission + pedals installed painted aluminum (silver)...restorers sometimes opt to customize their rides tho additional information - factory flatheads in transit
David A.
On page 32 of Don Bunn’s book under engine compartment colors, he says clutch and brake pedals were painted black.
