MarcDeSoto
Does anyone know a good source for soft rubber rear motor mounts? I called Bernbaum who has them for $12 each but he is closed right now. Seems like they only sell hard rubber now. This is for a 48 DeSoto. soth122003
Hey mark, The ones i got from Andy B's were pretty decent as in I could push my thumbnail in about a 1/16". Now that was a few years ago about 4-5 I think. Might give them a call when they are open and make sure. Sam Buchanan might chime in. He got his from Andy's I think and it was a few years later. Joe Lee The mounts I got were quite hard but I don't have anything to compare them to. I ended up just living with them after loosening the bolts to where the mounts weren't compressed. MarcDeSoto
I decided to go ahead and use the mounts I bought back in the 80s which are already installed. James told me that the NOS mounts aren't as soft as you might think. Sam how does your 48 Plymouth ride with the stiff motor mounts?
Sam Buchanan
Mark, the car is fine, it does have a little more vibration than the old totally shot marshmallow mounts. Many thing I found was to not compress the new mounts or they will really get harsh.

I found some good ones I ordered about thirty years ago. I think from Bernbaums. they have holes in them to make them have a bit more give. I am going to go with them. Young Ed
Wonder if you could drill the hard ones to soften? Or if something else would soften?

You can slow cook these in curry sauce and olive oil and they will soften up ?
