Well, it is mechanical, not electric.  It screws into the back of the head on the driver's side.  There should be a metal tube that gores into the firewall and ultimately to the gauge.

Yes I have found that part lol, just not sure what to do to fix the issue.

This is what it looks like from the gauge cluster, the tube with the coil spring goes directly to the port in the head.  I think the line to the bottom of the engine block is you oil pressure gauge.

That tube to the temp gauge has to be continuous with no breaks or holes in it.  There have been some that have fixed the tube, I am not one of those so I dunno.  There are also companies than can repair them for you, again I haven;t dine that so no advice there.

Thank you for your help as always it is much appreciated.  This is my first vintage car and I am not a mechanic but I am trying to learn.

A good Speedometer shop can fix it fast and they will check the calibration too.

This is one of those items I don't bother trying to fix myself. If in doubt...send it out.

You'll be money ahead.

Also with all the electronics these days, these guys are like shoe repair guys. If they are still in business they probably do good work and you need to support them.

I agree I am taking my car to a local garage next week and think I will have them look at it
