Hello everyone,

I posted a while back about my project 1940 dodge 2 door sedan.  Just found out that it's actually a 1942 dodge deluxe 2 door sedan.  I'm currently in the market for a full set of floor pans. And any books about the production of this vehicle.

I know there was a hold on production Jan 1942 as we entered WW2.  As always any and all information and comments are welcome..

I found the 2 plates on firewall one is stamped 4435TDS back can't find any record that has those numbers.

Not certain, as I have a Plymouth, but I would guess that the floor pans (and probably the entire body shell, just not the front clip & rear fenders) are the same as on the 46-48.  EXCEPT that the post-war Dodges appear to have been a new design for 46, while the 46-48 Plymouth is obviously a 'freshened up' 42.  (I'm glad, because I like the older design much better - personal opinion only.)

I posted a lot of info regarding the 1942 Dodge in the AACA forum under 1942 Dodge Factory Correct information.  The fire wall tags don't tell you a whole lot. I believce the TDS might be Two Door Sedan and the number is the number in line of the 2 Door sedans when that one was built.  The other tag probably say Dodge Brothers on it.  I do have a spare parts manual for the 42 Dodge.  Do you have a picture of yours to post?  They made a 2 Deluxe door sedan and a Custom Brougham.  I also started a Facebook Page for 1942 Dodge Owners.
