Old Car Stuff

I was out in my ‘53 Plymouth and I was thinking I have a couple of old things in the car. The first picture shows an air freshener from the 50’s that doesn’t provide much scent as I put in the car in the early ‘80’s as a period correct item to have inside.  In the lower passenger side of the windshield there’s a sticker. It is a provincial inspection sticker dated June 13, 1969. We haven’t had provincial inspections since shortly after that. Second picture shows the sticker.

What old stuff do you guys have inside your cars? Old stuff, not repro stuff like new hanging dice.

I've got a few items that came with the car when I purchased it. Being an original California car, it has window and bumper stickers from Southern California AAA along with a MN state parks sticker from 1982. Also have a Mobil license plate topper -no idea how old, and a compass with the original box and instructions. There's even an order form you can mail in for the adapting kit to make the compass illuminate! At only $1, it seems worth it to me!

In the glovebox of my 1938 Chrysler. This is a post card set from 1938.  Posted and signed “No Foolin’ , April 1 1938”. Mailed from Vancouver BC to Tacoma Washington.  Post cars of Stanley Park, in downtown Vancouver.

My car was sold, new in Vancouver BC  by Begg Motors in 1938. It would have very like driven many of the various roads shown in the post cards. Driven its maiden year, in 1938.

I found this postcard set in a used/antique/junk store in Tacoma, when I was visiting there. Bought it for $2. I had to.

I grew up in the outlying areas of Vancouver BC thru the 80’s and early 90’s. I have spent countless days at Stanley Park. We still go there now and again.

The two stickers in the rear side window are probably the oldest things in my car...the white with a red car sticker is from the eastern States Street Rod Association formed in the early 70's and the other blue & white sticker in that window is from the Blue Mountains Rod & Custom Club that I started in 1983.........Oh......and the 318 Poly V8 & cast iron Torqueflite have been in the car since August/September 1973...........my Oz 2 cents worth......andyd
