Mertz
I have a crankshaft pulley with timing marks but it is worn where it touches the seal. I also have a cast pulley that bolts to a hub but doesn’t have timing marks. I can easily mark tdc and use it or sleeve the stamped one. I assume our engines are internally balanced since there is no harmonic balancer. Would the heavy cast pulley affect the balance? I’d like to use it. kencombs
As long as your pulley is neutral balanced, it will be fine. And if it made for Mopar flathead it is neutral balanced.
Mertz
It did come off my industrial engine which I assume would have to run very smooth on it’s stand so I believe it is neutrally balanced. Given the uneven wear on the other one it is probably more balanced than the worn one.
