greg g Posted April 23, 2021 Report Share Posted April 23, 2021 (edited) Have an old 5 horse tecumseh engine. Starts and runs, bogs and stalls under load after running for 5 to 10 minutes. Did compression test today cold. Got 60 dry, just under 70 with a squirt of ATF Evaluating for keep it or chuck it. It is on a 1990 or so snowblower. Two or three years back I had to grind down the exhaust valve stem as the seat had eroded and valve wasn't sealing, so I trimmed the stem till there was some lash around 08 or 10 ths Only put maybe 8 hours since that was done.
