I would say Black also and many judges do not even know the correct color. If it is panted a funky color like pink or purple then they would spot it as not being the correct color.

The jack that is in the trunk of my 41 Plymouth sedan is black. The gloss is almost an exact match of the color the inside of the trunk is. This is an original car. The car has been in our family since it was purchased new in late 1940.

Funny thing about the use of the jack is that when one goes to use it to fix a flat tire, the jack does not lower enough to get it under the bumper!!!  So, I keep a small bottle jack hidden just in case!
