Worden18
Mine is set at 700, and it goes down to 450 at a stop sign without pushing the clutch in and utilizing fluid Drive. If 750 seems too low for you there could be other issues, possibly with your carburetor or any number of things like spark plugs etc.
Doug&Deb
Usually 450-500 is correct. It seems really slow compared to what we’re used to on a modern vehicle. Mine is set at 475. I have the M-6 trans and any higher and it won’t shift.
chrysler1941
If your engine stalls in gear at idle, adjust for richer mixture. Turn the screw 21 counter clockwise.
greg g
You didnt say which transmission you have, but the semi auto wants 500 to shift correctly. The carb should have an anti stall dash pot which should allow the rpm to drop slowly over a period of a couple of seconds upon releasing the gas pedal. So it doesn't just slam shut.
