johnseabee
My '38 Dodge Business Coupe had the weatherstrip gone from it when I bought it years ago so, I have mainly driven it in fair weather. I purchased new weatherstrip for the doors (top and bottom strip) but, I cannot locate any instructions, illustrations, or photos for proper cut, fit, and placement for the weatherstrip. Also, I was informed that the strip was only on the top of the doors and at the bottom of the doors until '39 when they put it all around the doors to help the leak problems and wondered if the '39 weatherstrip (kit?) would work for the '38? or if there was an alternative way to weatherstrip around the doors completely or in between the original style strip to help with water and wind. The car is pretty much all stock and a daily driver (not a show car) so, I am really not too concerned about the weatherstrip being exactly what is was looking more for the practicality and keep the weather out of the car. Any help, recommendations, or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you sincerely, John
ptwothree
Steele products Metro Rubber etc and others may be of help. The seal between the leading edge front door and the body, at least for my '52, is a hardware store item. No re-pops yet.
