Danielle
Can someone tell me what the purpose of the wire connected into the tank from the trunk is for? It looks really brittle If I were to replace it what Gauge is that
Sniper
It's for the sending unit to tell the fuel gauge in the dash what's going on. I used 16 gauge when I replaced mine.

Marcel Backs
My sender on the tank has two wires and the gauge has a heated filament movement as opposed to a moving coil. Looks like Plymouth is using a moving coil movement in 51 which is a better set up with one wire as opposed to 2 wires (terminal 1 & 2) on the sending unit and gauge found on the older models. Way easier to troubleshoot and way less tempermental! Keep up the excellent work on the car Danielle!
