More Gifts From Cool Old Car Guys!

A local long-life car lover stopped by my house today. He had something he wanted to go to a good home.

He opened his trunk and revealed his 45 year long collection of "Skinned Knuckles" magazines. He wanted me to have them. He personally delivered them to my door.

How cool was that?

I've got years of technical articles about vintage car systems to read. One of my favourite topics! I really respect the guys I keep meeting in this hobby.

speaking of gifts, this month hosts my birthday.....off this morning to the swap meet, last and only second event of the year...I will be looking to gift myself whatever I find that I just can't live without plus the assorted shop sundries I usually always stock up on.

while unique...this is not a considered purchase......lol

Keith, you give and then you receive. Simple as that. In my short time here I have noticed that you engage in a pretty positive way. That's why these things happen to you........still think you should have taken the Airflow though! ?

Thanks Sidevalve. It can be challenging to remain positive all the time. There is so much crap effecting us wherever we turn somedays.

Naw on the Airflow. I took my time thinking it through. I came to the right decision for me. No regrets so far anyway! I’m loving my current winter projects. I’m having fun. I’m engaged. I’m learning. Putting my skills to use. In the end I hope to have a solid usable, reconditioned engine in my ‘38 Plymouth.

Your engine bay probably looks like the one in my ‘63 Ford ? Fairlane 500. It’s the only non-Mopar of my oldies. It might be a Ford but it really is a sweet car. I bought it in 1979 and used it as a daily driver for a few years. It just became a keeper and is a survivor with everything original except for the blue paint.

The 260 V8 is at a rebuilder’s and I am taking the opportunity to freshen up the engine bay. Everything should be back together for some major miles starting in the spring.
