So I was checking under dash for my cowl vent lever and hit this green wire hanging down near speaker area and once it contacted metal lite up like a Christmas tree good thing im almost bald ha. Anyway couldn't tell were it came from anyone know if orig wiring called for a green wire and a yellow wire running to speaker. The yellow wire is connected but don't see where green would go if it does. Or maybe it went to something else all together. Plus it being always  hot has me confused.  Key was not on. Any ideas appreciated.

++yes to checking for a wiring diagram.

I too have found some loose wires hanging down under my dash, some covered in electrical tape and some bare. Having one spark on you all of a sudden isn't that fun when you're already twisted up on the floor of your car.

Will do to the download section. Thanks. Still waiting for manuals to come in. And ya scared crap out of me at first. My daughter laughed her arse off.

Not sure if there's much difference between 49/50 to 53, but here's a pic from my manual. I do see a green wire for the cigar lighter coming off the ammeter so that could maybe be your culprit? Edit-also noticed there's a green wire going to the horn relay. Does your horn work? Lol

The green14 ga. Cig lighter feed wire is hot full time.

If it is green with white tracers....That most likely is the sparkling wire.
