Arm Rest Bolt - 1939 Plymouth

HI

Does anyone have a photo of the bolt / screw that fastens the arm rest to the door for a 1939 Ply.  Have been using a 1/4 /20 round head screw, however easy to come off, almost lost the arm rest.  Thinking of taking a round carriage bolt and grinding down until it fits, seems that there should be a lock nut to hold the bolt in place?   Does anyone know of a supplier that sells this bolt?  Thanks in advance for your help

If i remember correctly the bolt has a flat head and the bolt screws into the door panel the arm rest is then pushed into the door panel and the bolt holes aligned up with the slots for the bolts in the arm rest and then you push downon the entire assembly to lock it into place.

Thanks Rich,

I picked up some flat head and round carriage bolts, will cut them down to get a good fit and see which one works best.   Have a feeling that the original bolts may not have been circular, will play around with different shapes.  Want to be careful that they don't fit so tight that can't get them off.

Regards,

Rich
