Well, here are the answers to the above questions. Both of these are mine. The r10 is sold. The r11 is a large transmission for the straight 8 cars. I do not recall where I got it. But will sell it.

The r10 and r11 designations are only for the OD.  They were available on a wide range of transmissions.  I don't think your transmission with the r11 on it is from the early flathead era.  The Main drive gear splines look like a 23 spline and much shorter than the 40-50s version.  I'm using an a833OD on my truck and it uses that MDG.  It is from an 80s van and attached to a 60 truck clutch housing.

Your 'r11' looks to be attached to a Borg Warner T85, judging by the curved side cover.  If the bolt pattern on the front is like the other one, it is probably from the 60s, a big car or PU.

That R11 OD was used in the 1949-50 big eight Packards according to National Data.

Since the overdrive I an “addition “ to a standard transmission, and since I have a standard three speed, I wonder if the r11 will attach! Too busy working to finish the Suburban now, but later, maybe.
