Engine swap, car with OD to B3B

I have come across a car 218 with R10 overdrive. My truck needs an engine, so I want to put this in there.  I think all I need is to add the cross member tor the rear engine mounts. Is that correct?

What are you going to do with the clutch and brake pedals?

Cut, weld, drill, fab?

Can be done?

You go Paul!

Where the heck do you keep finding R-10 OD trans?

Is it a R-10 G-1 Mopar OD?

230 C.I or 218 C.I Mopar flathead? Running strong?

After the dune buggy paint job?  Still waiting on the completed pictures at Pismo Beach, Ca.!

I think that transmission will bolt to your PU clutch housing.  If it is not a direct bolt-on, drilling and tapping would be much preferable (at least to me) to trying to put a modified crossmember in, then work out something for the clutch and brake.  So swap your housing to the replacement engine and install the transmission.  No frame or pedal work.  Probably will need a different drive shaft, but it's possible that the OD may be the same length as the original PU trans.

You point out too many probables. Too old to do them, so will not make the swap. That leaves me with a nice engine and R10 overdrive to do something with.

I’m in a serious downsizing program. Will ship the truck to my daughter in Indiana, then sell everything by spring. I plan to have an empty shop by spring.

yes, R-10 G -1 MOPAR OD. Where do I find them, sorry, that is off limits! LOL, there has been no pattern for finding them, but they are out there.

218 C.I. MOPAR flathead. I now have two of them
