change in pace...

I have been out working a bit on the Morris van box....rebuilding the lower latch assemblies where they attach to the body...goobered up nut plates.  I also cut out and welded up the patches that were of all things just pop riveted pieces of scrap and glassed over...the opening appeared to have been cut by multiple drilling of holes.  Totally lacking....but back to the change in pace...I made two rhubarb upside down cakes....had to sample them...someone got to be the taste-test dummy.

I have a cook book given to me by my grandmother....it was the original cook book to the old Home Comfort stove....it is yet my go-to as today these sissy girls in the kitchen seem to cannot bake or cook without the likes of cinnamon in their recipe to cover their botched attempt at flavor, finding an original old fashion recipe is often difficult......pic of stove....not the book....my book is a bit rough around the edges.

That bag of dog food doesn't have anything to do with the recipe, does it?  Those look rather tasty, I may have to get the missus to try that (she won't let me bake anything).  Rhubarb is a big thing in these parts, but I'd never heard of a rhubarb upside down cake before.
