Hi,

Strange question.

Due to circumstances beyond my control (not my fault) my 36 Plymouth diff carrier fill plug is missing. Anyone have the spec for that. I would bet that I can find one if I know what the size and thread is. The car is far away from me at the moment (can't just go measure it).

Does anyone know? Also do many year cars have the same size? (possibly I can do a different kind of search).

thanks,

Rebecca

I’m not sure but I believe it’s either 1/2 or 3/4 pipe thread both of which are tapered thread. It’s something you can find in any hardware store.

thanks. for sure it is not 1/2. It is much larger. Thanks for the tip.

1/2 inch pipe thread does not mean that the measurement is actually 1/2 inch . The 1/2 inch pipe pug will measure much larger than that . I agree that it is probably 1/2 or 3/4 inch pipe thread and as mentioned a very common hardware store item .

I have a set of pipe taps on hand, Irwin still makes them in the US, my local Ace carries them.  Makes it easier to sort out what size you need, but I only go up to 3/8 NPT, so far.  Buy them as I need them.
