n1gzd_plymouth Posted June 17, 2020 Report Posted June 17, 2020 Hi, Strange question. Due to circumstances beyond my control (not my fault) my 36 Plymouth diff carrier fill plug is missing. Anyone have the spec for that. I would bet that I can find one if I know what the size and thread is. The car is far away from me at the moment (can't just go measure it). Does anyone know? Also do many year cars have the same size? (possibly I can do a different kind of search). thanks, Rebecca Quote
Doug&Deb Posted June 18, 2020 Report Posted June 18, 2020 I’m not sure but I believe it’s either 1/2 or 3/4 pipe thread both of which are tapered thread. It’s something you can find in any hardware store. Quote

Jerry Roberts Posted June 18, 2020 Report Posted June 18, 2020 1/2 inch pipe thread does not mean that the measurement is actually 1/2 inch . The 1/2 inch pipe pug will measure much larger than that . I agree that it is probably 1/2 or 3/4 inch pipe thread and as mentioned a very common hardware store item . Quote
keithb7 Posted June 18, 2020 Report Posted June 18, 2020 I bought one recently, but darned if I can remember the size. This help? Quote
Sam Buchanan Posted June 18, 2020 Report Posted June 18, 2020 (edited) 3/4" NPT. https://www.engineersedge.com/hardware/taper-pipe-threads.htm Edited June 18, 2020 by Sam Buchanan 1 Quote
Sniper Posted June 18, 2020 Report Posted June 18, 2020 I have a set of pipe taps on hand, Irwin still makes them in the US, my local Ace carries them. Makes it easier to sort out what size you need, but I only go up to 3/8 NPT, so far. Buy them as I need them. Quote
