Suddensix
I have a 1949 P18 3 speed transmission. Can anyone tell me what other years this transmission would be suitable for. Are they the same 1940 to 1956?
keithb7
This page here talks about 48 and back.... Transmission.pdf
greg g
I ran a 46 trans behind my 56 engine. Some of the early column shifters were cable operated 40 41 maybe, the transmission would probably fit but the linkages might not cooperate. RobertKB
I have a 1954 parts book. It shows all parts basically run from 1940 to 1954. I have spare transmissions from 1948 and 1954 and they are identical. I am talking standard transmissions with no overdrive or fluid drive. dpollo
40 to 56 will be a bolt for bolt swap however, the speedometer drive changes position and the ratios of the gears is different in 40 from those which follow.
