Shon
I want to switch to 12 V on my 1951 Chrysler Windsor deluxe. I need a OEM wiring diagram to start. Anyone know where I can find one. Also how many circuits should I get for my new harness?
Los_Control
If your wiring is original, it probably does need to be replaced. But if your wiring is good, you do not need to change it for 12 volts. The 6 volt wiring is heavier then modern 12 volts and stronger. I have no advice on the new harness but know others will. Doug&Deb
If you have the M6 trans be aware that 12 volt conversion can be problematic.
Shon
M6 trans is the fluid drive? Doug&Deb
MarcDeSoto
M6 trans is the semi auto transmission with fluid drive used on 49-52 cars.
Doug&Deb
Yes. The electric components don’t handle the conversion well. I’m sure someone on the forum has done this successfully. Hopefully they will weigh in. My Coronet is still 6 volt.

MarcDeSoto
I think the only place you would see resistors would be in the radio.
