I agree with Greg. The imperial website has a troubleshooting manual available for download. Easy to troubleshoot this trans. They’re pretty bulletproof so it’s usually something simple causing the problem. Good luck and keep us posted.

I didn't find an y loose wire but trans was low on oil. Added close to a half quart. started raining hard so I couldn't drive it. I will tomorrow be surprised if it  doesn't makes some difference being that low

The Gyro-Matic M6 low transmission oil level generally causes unwanted downshifts on turns....because the oil pump sucks air..oil pressure drops and kicks out of high.

But you have to fill it up....it might be the cure. 

Oil pressure causes upshifts.

Low oil pressure causes downshifts.
