andyd
I remember the sheer bliss & joy installing a water pump repair kit on the original 1940 Dodge water pump, the immense satisfaction obtained when the "ears" of the fibre seal retainer washer broke off and you had to get another damn seal kit......oh the joy, the bliss, the,the,the.........lol............this was but a dim memory when I purchased a new water pump for the 1941 Plymouth a few years ago only to discover not only did this new version have a proper impeller with multi vanes rather than the mongrel two eared original but ........the new pump had a sealed bearing.....no more doing battle with repair kits and water pump grease..............yeh I know a sealed bearing is not original.......but I'm pretty sure that mother mopar would have used this modern design if it was available..........lol............my Oz 2 cents worth.........andyd
