Airshocks

Just remember that shock mount points are not designed to support the weight of the car.  So, lifting the car using air pressure applied to them will likely result in breakage.  Back in the day the famous tri-5 chevys had shocks mounted to a reinforced truck floor.  Lots of them got destroyed by the air shock craze.

Air shocks wont provide the results you are after. Air ride is something you will want to look into. Any deviation from stock will take away from your ride and handling.

I don't know about take away alter is more like it.  As far as I am concerned the stock ride is too wallowy.  But I prefer cars that handle instead of ones that float but I will admit my 51 soaks up the bumps that modern cars don't.  It's just that the list she has in a turn bothers me.
