Starting my B2C restoration.

Recommended Posts

Wanted to say hi as I'm starting my restoration. I'm sure I'm going to have questions. I've already learned a lot just reading through the other posts.

The engine runs (rough) and the transmission shifts. My plan right now is to keep it as stock as possible (minus upgrading to front disc brakes and possible power stearing).

Today was the first day, removed all the rotted wood and took the bed off.

V/R,

Thanks for the welcome. Had a little free time after work, so off came the hood. I'm realizing I may need a bigger garage

I did my 1 ton in a 3rd stall of a standard house garage....spill over into the second....and lots of use of my driveway....you can do it!  :)

Another couple days of work and got all the glass, both doors, and some of the instruments removed. I'm realizing their is a little more rust then I originally thought. Also several layers of mud, oil, and hornets nests on the bottom.

Thanks to everyone that has posted answers to previous questions. I had to use several searches to figure out how to get a few things off.

In preparation of pulling the engine, we started to clean the engine and clutch. Amazing how much fluids and dirt was stuck to everything.

Hate to say it, but now I don't feel so bad with finding as much grease, oil, dirt, and gunk stuck all over my drive line and frame.  it's been a slow but steady clean up process on all the parts. Good Luck, and keep up the good work.

Looks like there might have been some "heirloom" seeds on the gear box?

I think if I tried planting those seeds, I may be in trouble with the EPA, due to all the muck caked on EVERYTHING!!!  Someday it will be clean.
