Jeff H Posted January 1, 2020 Report Share Posted January 1, 2020 Hello all! New to the forum. Working on a 1950 B2B. I am getting oil blowing from my venelation tube at higher rpms. JBNeal Posted January 2, 2020 Report Share Posted January 2, 2020 I'm guessing you're getting oil blowing out of the draft tube and/or oil filler tube vent cap, this sounds like combustion chamber blowby gases...might be time for a rebuild, ya want to check engine compression next to verify... Tony WestOZ Posted January 2, 2020 Report Share Posted January 2, 2020 Is much blue smoke is coming out the exhaust at idle or high revs? A little trick is to run down a hill in top gear with little throttle then accelerate. Check to see if any smoke is coming out the exhaust pipe. I find these flatheads can breath a bit at the best of times. The first flat head I rebuilt was down to 60 to 70 on most and about 45 on one. It was still running ok. I just used a lot of oil and petrol consumption was getting rather high. I would not be too worried at 90. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
