Body mounts questions

Recommended Posts

New mounts will at least make the body line back up.  Just remember and mark where each shim comes from and put it back there.  I didn't drive my coupe before the new mounts so can't answer that.  If any mount is metal to metal they yes the noise will be reduced.  If not removing the body it isn't too hard, just do one side at a time.

Is it hard?  I keep thinking if I just visualize the mounts getting replaced hard enough, then it will happen.  We have worked out a game plan, got all the rubber and cut the basic pieces but I keep finding other things that are easier to get done so we put it off.  I am certain that once I just get to it...

I have replaced body mounts by using wood shims to block up the body off of the frame, with a 2x4 used to lever the body up to add more shims...then the old body mounts pop out, new ones slide in, remove shims, PROBLEM SOLVED
