Bellhousing information needed

Recommended Posts

I'm using a '53 bell housing of my '54 C1.  The '54's did not use a side mount style of bell housing and that is what I needed for my application.

The question?  Did these bell housings have some sort of cover on the bottom?  There are a bunch of tapped holes on the bottom which makes me believe that something was hung under there.  All my literature is about C1s and does not include <54.

Any help would be appreciated.

They have clutch pans to protect the ring gear.

Thank you.  Would you happen to have a picture or part number for the pan?

I did find a 9-47-20 "flywheel housing pan" in my 1954 parts book.  Now the question is: will this pan fit a 1939 to 1953 bell housing.
