Chuck
My buddy has a 1949 Model W Fire Truck and the fuel pump started leaking. I can't find any information online about the Model W trucks. Where can I find a fuel pump or a rebuild kit? It has a flat 6 engine. I am not sure of the displacement. The door tag is hard to read. He thought it was 296 HP at 3200 RPM and has a 16,500 GVWR. Thank you for any help.
Merle Coggins
A W-series would probably be a ‘47 or earlier. By ‘49 we were 2 years into the B-series. Anyway, check out Then and Now Automotive. http://www.then-now-auto.com/fuel-pumps/ They have very good quality rebuild kits for fuel pumps of all types. It will be more cost effective, and better quality once it’s done (in my opinion).
Chuck
The model on the tag is B W 170. Sorry if I wasn't clear. It is titled as a 1949.
wldavis3
Also you might want to check with Vintage Power Wagons.

Got a picture of your truck, Chuck? I’m still a little confused on your model designation. A ‘49 would be a B-1 series, and the next letter would designate the weight capacity. But I have never seen a W listed. The 170 would indicate the wheel base length. 16,500 GVW would be a good size truck. If you can read the serial number use it with this VIN decoder. http://www.t137.com/registry/help/decode.php Edited November 10, 2019 by Merle Coggins
Chuck
Here is an old photo of the truck. It's at my buddy's house right now. The decoder identifies it as a B1J 2 ton truck. Edited November 10, 2019 by Chuck Add model from decoder
