Engine ready - sorted out parts issues. Thanks for all of the helpful comments

Hi,

An update. I have sorted out the parts issues (after determining that military surplus for M37 is helpful).

My engine is now ready. I will attempt to post a few pics. It is not in the car yet.

Please no comments about the color. I did not want a silver engine. ;) I previously painted it black (which was cool) but I decided that this time a lighter color would be more practical. No bling on it yet (do that later).

Good job! Looks great! I prefer the silver engines but everyone is different. I just love flathead engines! One thing I know for sure, the internal moving components could care less what the exterior colour is. All they care about is being cozy and functioning smoothly inside!

Or you can set your camera or phone to a lower definition resolution setting.  Fewer pixles per picture means more photo per post.

Were those readings at specific rpm or were they peak numbers??  If they were peak at what rpm did they occur?

By the way that blue is striking.

Color is fine. I did a dark grey on the '47 Desoto engine with a deep read head and bell housing. The head and bell were powder coated. Over the last 10 plus years that really paid off in wiping down oil from things.

PS. I would also like to see the curves.  I attached some curves I have from the factory.
