Jj1981
When I first attempted to drive my b2b it would not engage 1st gear I found the rubber bushing that went onto the shift rod that connects to the transmission was missing and the rod could not engage so I built a bushing and it shifts like a dream

Rather you think so or not, the shift linkage is a very important area, you want to be sure you have it as lubricated and working as you can. Otherwise, just take it apart and grease it, then assume it all works.
