Nomad50
What rear end wil fit on a "47 Desoto Custom? I installed a 318/ automatic to the original rear end. It works fine but I have no emergency brake, which is a problem. Edited August 25, 2019 by Nomad50 wrong text.
greg g
Lots of options, search tool should reveal several conversations. But for starters, Old Jeep Cherokee, early 5 lug bolt Dakota, Mopar B bodies, lots of Ford stuff. All will require torch and welding work. Plymouthy Adams
I think the E body is the closest to a bolt in...keep in mind...if using your stock wheels...you are interested in flange to flange measurements
wayfarer
^^^^^what they say............The E body axle assembly will be more difficult to find so consider other options. That said, I do have a housing for sale if you want to go that route but the rest of the parts will exceed the cost of the Explorer unit. See my web pages for some axle dimensions.
