I agree. Just undo the driveshaft at the differential and use some wire to hang that end of the driveshaft to the underside of the car. Be positive it is secure. Easy to reinstall.

You wouldn’t do harm by undoing the drive shaft but it’s extra work for I don’t think a concern. The gear box is all splash lube.
