Fuel Pickup Tube

Recommended Posts

Has anyone ever made a fuel pick up tube. Your fuel line runs from it to the fuel pump. The tube is inside the gas tank looks to be about 5/16 tubing. With 1/2 inch thread on a 90 Degree male/female fitting. Was thinking of making out of break fitting and line but wasn't sure if it would work.

Reason I need to replace it is someone split the one that's on the tank and the other one I have is stripped

How would you replace the tube part in the tank..... yourself?

Dangerous?

The tube part in the tank is the easy part. The part just unscrews from the tank. But to buy one is impossible to find. You can find 3/8 fittings but not 1/2 inch.

No welding or anything involved and even if there was the tank was just cleaned.

Well I was wrong it isn't 3/8 or 1/2 inch it is 1/4 inch and it is a 90 degree brake line connection. It is flared at end of line. So it needs 90 degree flared fitting. 1/4 inch Male to gas tank into 90 degree female flared fitting.
