JBNeal Posted February 5, 2019 Report Share Posted February 5, 2019 (edited) I got a wild hair to kill 2 birds with one stone as I needed to visit the local locksmith, so I figured I'd get a key cut for the Spring Special since it didn't have one supplied by the previous owner. I carefully removed the ignition switch from the dash, and mr. butterfingers dropped it on the floorboards...that's when I noticed the cylinder had fallen out of the switch. Plymouthy Adams Posted February 5, 2019 Report Share Posted February 5, 2019 Spring Special for sure...no special springs or tumblers....Locksmith can still pin the tumbler for you for whatever key you have on hand...bad part is the cylinder lock pin may be damaged if it just fell out.....check it close for worthiness first. Tooljunkie Posted January 20, 2020 Report Share Posted January 20, 2020 Look closely around brake hose. the patches were definitely a farm repair, bottom if frame rail was 2 pieces of leaf spring. Tooljunkie Posted January 22, 2020 Report Share Posted January 22, 2020 Waay back when, garages and mechanics were few and far between. So cars were built to be reapairable. But still requires parts. farmers are way out in the boonies and only had the materials at hand to fix and get rolling. Same went for the farm machinery.
