Wiper Motor Replacement

Hey does anyone have a suggestion for replacement wiper motors for a 1957 D100? I saw a few aftermarket on Ebay, just wondering if anyone had any experience or suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Assuming that your '57 is 12v, I would suggest that you convert the D100 to a more modern electric wiper motor.

Several years ago when I was working on my '39 Plym conv I wanted to convert the wipers from vacuum to electric, the after-market vendors had many options available, most of which were very expensive and not necessarily user friendly.

I ended up harvesting a wiper motor from the rear door of a Dodge van. The motor was quite small, made by Bosch. Paid $10. for the wiper motor at a Pick-A-Part.

It was very simple to modify the shaft on the wiper motor to accommodate the "transmission/arm" portion of the original wiper to fit the Bosch shaft, mounting the small motor was also very easy. Make sure you harvest a portion of the original Dodge wiring loom and connector to the wiper motor.

My '39 Plym conv cpe now has two-speed electric wipers.

After I finished my Plym we converted my brothers "53 Chevy BelAire to the Dodge van wiper motor...

Good ideas - Yes, it is 12V and there is also a vacuum tube from the intake manifold for my disposal. I'm going to go electric though, this isn't going to be a show truck. I like your idea, especially since I do have the old linkage.
