Rebuild of 230

Recommended Posts

Andy Bernbaum, Terrill Machine in Texas, Vintage Power Wagons.  These are just the ones I can think off-hand.  I know there are others.  Also, you can get some parts, such as pistons, crankshaft bearings, piston rings, gasket sets, timing chains and gears, valves and valve guides from places like O'Reilly Auto Parts and NAPA, although they won't have complete rebuild kits.

I bought most of my engine parts and had my cam ground by Egge. (They source some of their parts from Kantor)

If I had to do it again, I would go with Terrill Machine. I had a very positive experience with them. Their prices are some of the cheapest and they will ship the next day. I had to wait several weeks for Egge because they didn’t have certain things in stock.

I hate to sound like a broken record on here, but RockAuto doesn't sell pretty much everything you will need, but always be sure to take your block into the machine shop first before ordering anything..make sure your getting what they recommend for overbore sizes, and even bearing sizes.

The flat 6 made it as far as the 70's which is a good reason why a lot of stuff can still be found in the main auto stores. Mostly for industrial use after 1960 . Cars etc received the new slat 6 by then.
